Julia Matthews grew up in the country area of Mount Airy, North Carolina, where she started self-published in 2011, producing a total of twenty-plus books through Amazon, most in the LGBTQ+ paranormal romance genre. Her current work in progress is Guardian Prime, and hopefully will be released Fall of 2026.
Her youth was spent in the country, playing softball and reading for fun. The only aspects she grew out of as an adult were softball and country living. She moved to a larger city near Mount Airy with her parents and has lived there writing and reading since.
