Chapter 11 Daro
Was I playing a game with my father? Not really. I could see how Sire Charles might see my explanation that way once he heard it. Then again, he might also see it as treason. Question lingered, even after I gave him a taste of how I felt about him, could I trust him? Then again, could I trust my own people? The ones I dubbed my Sire and my Captain just tried to break into my room. I have no reason why, as of yet. I would have soon. Could I figure that out before I answered Sire Charles?
“You going to answer me?” Sire Charles lifted an eyebrow at me as my hand brushed down his cheek. “Stop that and answer me, Prince Daro.”
“I get the feeling Princes don’t answer on command.”
“That depends on what is asked and who asks.”
“So, a Sire gets their answer upon asking?” Nothing I was told by my Grandpa during his training sessions. In fact, he said I answered to no one, other than my father, until I was the Lord of Hancock Castle, then I chose who I answered to. Then again, I would answer to Sire Charles no matter what he asked if he asked in the right manner.
“When it comes to a possible treason, I get it either the easy way or the hard way.” He lifted his phone and was ready to hit send on his phone.
I jerked the phone from his hand, shaking my head. “Fine. Fine. Let me deal with these pricks first.”
“I will deal with them, Prince Daro.”
“We will deal with them, baby.”
“Stop calling me that.” He walked up to Darrel, flipping him onto his belly, yanking his hands behind his back, holding his two hands with one as he yanked a zip tie from his back pocket. “There, that will hold you.” He yanked him into a sitting position and slid him across the room until he slammed into the wall across the room. “Move, Prince.” He nudged me away from Sire Jazz, whom I’d just flipped onto his stomach thanks to watching him work so fluently and smoothly. “Never waste time when dealing with an enemy, Sir. If you do, you give them time to strike.”
“I would never hurt my Lord,” Sire Jazz said.
“Could fool me,” Sire Charles slipped a second pair of zip ties around his wrist. “You can explain yourself later. For now, keep your mouth shut.” He shoved him against the side wall next to my dresser before standing tall. “Now, they are taken care of. Answer my question.”
“Fine.” I walked to the bed, sitting and patting the spot beside me.
He shook his head, slipping his hands across his chest.
“Okay. You are stubborn. Tells me why I like you so much, baby.”
He scowled at me.
“My goal is to return the Light Realm to its previous status with the Dark Realm. It will only take me confronting my father with the pure truth of how he has no control over his realm any longer. It is as simple as showing him that I have been within his walls for over six months and built my own arms at guards during that time. Enough people have come to my side.”
